Well, it's been a while since we updated this thing, and in the interim much has happened, much has changed, much has been achieved.

Primarily, #underlit itself has been occupied with a few projects of note:

UNDERLIT RADIO

Read about it here. This is an amazing opportunity to build a radio network for the lit community ( and possibly the rest of the place, with time).

Our resident tech genius ~thecoolbeane deserves many HUGE THANKS must for the work he's put into this so far. Beane, you're a legend.

Beane has built us a website for the shows, and a forum where we can discuss programming ideas, and other stuff. These will be launched soonish, keep ears out for that announcement.

Seriously.

We need shows ( 30 mins ) , and show segments ( 2 - 15 mins ). There are expected to be produced to a decent broadcast quality, though we can offer a little help with that if it's really needed.

We'd like humour, current affairs, poetry and prose readings and reviews, anything lit-related you might come up with. We have 4 hours a week to fill, and can't do it without community input, so get your mics out & thinking caps on. Regular features are most welcome.

So yeah... that's what we've been up to.

And that's not including the many great projects and doings of our regular crowd, who are a creative bunch indeed. Next journal, we'll be doing a feature on those.

Creativity breeds creativity. Anyone who has spent time in the company of creative people knows this. And when those people are intensely focussed on their art, wonderful things can happen.

Enter #underlit. It isn't just another deviantART lit-chat. For one, we don't encourage the usual gamut of chat-blather. #underlit is dedicated to offering quality critique, setting creative exercises for members, encouraging creative thought and above all, enjoying and encouraging each other's work. #underlit is about quality and striving to always improve one's craft.


By the way, if you come by and things are quiet, we're not "idle". We're writing.
